Goodnight, Anne

Goodnight, Anne

Tundra Books. 2018

A beautiful bedtime picture book based on the best-selling Anne of Green Gables, introducing the irrepressible and beloved Anne to younger readers. It's time for Anne to go to bed, but not before she wishes goodnight to everyone and everything she loves! Under the watchful eye of her adoptive mother Marilla, Anne has come to cherish life at Green Gables -- the dearest, loveliest spot in the world, and her true home. Every night before she goes to bed, she thinks of all the people and places she loves: her family, her bosom friend Diana, her splendid teacher Miss Stacy, beloved tree Snow Queen, the Lake of Shining Waters and the brilliant sky above. Anne even wishes goodnight -- or good riddance! -- to pesky classmate Gilbert and nosy neighbor Mrs. Lynde. And through it all, Anne's...

Latin America in the Era of the Cuban Revolution and Beyond, 3rd Edition

Latin America in the Era of the Cuban Revolution and Beyond, 3rd Edition

ABC-CLIO. 2018

An in-depth explanation of how the Cuban Revolution dictated Latin American politics and U.S.-Latin American relations from the 1950s to the present, including widespread democratization and the rise of the "Pink Tide." • Explains how and why Fidel Castro established communism in Cuba, his motivations for taking Cuba into the Soviet camp, and the consequences of both of these actions • Documents how the repression, dictatorships, and human rights violations of the 1970s and 1980s were unanticipated outcomes of the Cuban Revolution • Clarifies the often confusing and contradictory trends in Latin American political history from the 1950s to the present • Examines the "Pink Tide" of recent leftist governments, including those of Hugo Chávez in Venezuela and Evo Morales in Bolivia

  1.  love the product and the green color is great…..REVIEW UPDATE 3/11/16Ok, had to write about the great “Lifetime Guarantee” on my Crown Coast Umbrella. Bought my umbrealla November last year, its great and loved it. Now for the rest of the story, my pretty little “Bella” aka my German Shepard decided recently that my beautiful green umbrella all folded up would make an awesome chew toy, and she went to town. (See pics)Not really expecting that a company would replace my product you know because “the dog ate it” I wrote them and told them the story with pictures and all….It took less than a few hours to get a reply back to let me know that a New Umbrella was on the way, AWESOME GUARANTEE!!! Here is what customer service said:Crown Coast Customer Service:Oh, that is unfortunate your dog really did tear it up. Thanks for sending me pictures. I have never seen that before with one of our customers. Haha, it is a little bit funny. But don’t worry we will take care of you.No need to send back the chewed up umbrella I can see that its seen better days.I have gone a head and sent you a replacement umbrella. You should receive it in a few days.If there are any other issues please contact us.Have a great day.All I can say it WOW great Customer Service!!!!

  2. Super cute to match grown-ups umbrella. Kids length is 26 inches compared to adults 36 inches.

  3. These umbrellas worked PERFECT for my kids’ Halloween costumes! I’ve seen other posts about them being “dirty.” They are NOT dirty. They are, however, covered in a powder. This is to keep them from sticking together and tearing when you first opened them a little water and they’re good to go!

  4. This was part one of a Halloween costume. It worked out great.

  5. I did not want to write a review at first, because as you can understand from the other comments the product is great. However, after having an e-mail chain that I had with the customer service I felt compelled to write this review. The product is great, especially the yellow one is a delight to have on rainy dark gray days. It just lightens your day up.As an international student who thought 20 bucks is a lot to give for an umbrella, after reading many reviews I decided to purchase this product. After a month or so there was a hurricane-ish thing going on around Boston area and I happen to have this with me.It was doing a great job with even really heavy rain;however, when the wind got really strong it got away from my hand (I should have used the strap) and it hit on the ground really badly. The top part got broken, though the product was still usable. Regardless, I did not use it again to not to ruin it more and asked customer service for possible suggestions etc. They immediately replied my e-mail and offered to replace it even with out me sending the umbrella that I have now.So overall, this company has so much confidence in their product and their customer service is the most amazing one that I have ever encountered. PEOPLE WITH SMALL BUDGET: Think of this as an investment rather than an expense, because with this great product and even greater customer service this is going to be the only umbrella that you will ever need to buy!

  6. I have a couple of decent full sized umbrellas, but I’ve always just used cheap travel umbrellas which just don’t work all that well, fall apart quickly, and are a pain to use. Immediately upon unboxing this umbrella you realize it’s something different due to the heft of it. Rather than reading the directions as I should have, it took me a minute or so fiddling with it to figure out how it deploys and retracts. It’s actually much simpler than cheaper ones. You simply loosen the velcro strap and push the button. There’s no catch you have to push the collar past to mess with. To retract you simply push the button again and push the two ends together. At any rate my first couple of uses out of this thing has managed to impress me with the quality and utility of it. Time will tell if it lasts, but so far I’m quite happy with my purchase and would certainly buy it again. The guy that made the alleging they lied about the 60mph testing apparently can’t read all that well. They clearly say the umbrella is tested to 60mph GUSTS which is quite different than 60mph sustained winds the guy is trying to test the umbrella for. I’m sure he thinks he’s smart lashing the umbrella to his truck and filming the thing going down the road, but I was laughing hysterically by that point at how inept he was. If you ever find yourself in 60mph sustained winds and manage to hold on to an umbrella that’s not going to fold up, I’m pretty sure you’re going to be doing a pretty good Mary Poppins impression.
